Join the walk!
This year, we’ll be setting out to explore the city’s edge counterclockwise over three weekends in February, in small and big groups, with special events along the way including programming at the Schuylkill Center in conjunction with the community exhibit Walking The Edge.
PLEASE REGISTER INDIVIDUALLY for EACH segment that you plan to attend.
More info: Walk Guidelines & Frequently Asked Questions
Register for this segment:
You're signing up to walk on Saturday, February 25th at 11:00AM from the Schuylkill Center towards St Joe's
This segment is estimated to take roughly 9 – 10 miles and take 5 to 6 hours. Your mileage may vary depending on choices made by your group, and there will be options to walk a partial segment & depart / get picked up along the way if necessary.
This segment is not capped to a small group and may grow into a parade if enough people join. Please feel free to invite all of your friends – just have them register separately.
Using public transportation to access departure and end locations is highly recommended.
This day includes a coffee reception at the Schuykill Center exhibit Walking the Edge. Meet us at 10am and invite your friends and family to join us before we head out! Shuttles will be organized to meet us at the nearest public transportation and bring us to the Schuylkill Center.
This segment also concludes with a happy hour/dinner at Landmark Americana. For those looking to join us, JJ will be posting an ETA via twitter @walkaroundphila when the group is about an hour out.
Once registered, you will receive some additional resources including a packing list & maps.
Registration fees & contributions:
Walk registration fees help cover administrative and logistical costs associated with facilitating the walk. Additional contributions are most welcome; they assist in the continued development of the project and efforts to make it more accessible to others.
Free registrations & stipends:
If you'd like to join the walk and finances are a barrier, please reach out to walk@jjtiziou.net. We can accommodate some free registrations and have a limited number of stipends available to help cover costs such as transportation, supplies, childcare or time off from work.
