Any favorite walk memories? Please share them here…
One recent one is when we played pied piper up on Pine Road, and almost abducted a small child who just fell in with the walk group and started walking with us… she & her dad ended up joining us all the way to Pennypack park where we had a wonderful surprise (secretly-planned) rendezvous with some magical trail angels!

There are so many! As for serendipitous onsite education, it would be hard to beat the presentation made by the director of the Lower Darby Creek Superfund site who we chanced upon and who, instead of chasing us off, gave us an outstanding insight into the way the site is being managed for the long term. Or the gentleman who had just driven his Harley up from Delaware the day we happened by the Navy Yard and told us all about the 11 years he had spent in service on board the John F. Kennedy aircraft that is still docked there waiting to be towed and scrapped. Sweet moments.

Those were both fortuitous encounters! I love those impromptu mini-guest lectures that we sometimes get on the walk, and have been wondering about the big JFK carrier and whether it’ll still be there when we walk by next weekend…
